Forever loved by Jenny and Dave Buckley.
Jasper was rescued by Jenny and Dave and finished out her life happily on a New Zealand farm
with her GSD "brothers" Buck and Luke.  She quietly passed in her sleep on May 6th, 2003
knowing love and what is was like to have a wonderful home.

Our very special friend sent her Tawny to the Bridge.  It was a last act of love in exchange for loyalty and devotion given for so many wonderful years by Tawny .  Tawny's legacy lives on through her four pups who live at Tawnyhill Shepherds and are loved by their wonderful owner:   Dale.

*~ Memorial to a Great Dog ~*
A million times we've called you, a million tears we've cried.
If love could have saved you, you never would have died.
In life we loved you dearly, In death we love you still.
In our hearts you hold a place, no one else will ever fill.
It broke our hearts to lose you, But you didn't go alone.
Part of us went with you, The day God took you home.

Yani:  Denise's love.  Denise:  Yani's hero.  Yani suffered from pancreatic insufficiency  and she also had moderate/severe gastritis, eosinophilic duodenitis, moderate/severe colitis,  and Inflammatory Bowel Disease.   Together, they helped teach the dog world about these diseases and together they developed a bond of true love, devotion and commitment.

Kathy Fornes' "Kali"
Rescued by Kathy and forever loved by Kathy.

"When a pet dies, that special, warm place in our hearts suddenly
becomes empty…and, as in all painful events, it will take time to get
over the loss. But there is something to hang on to . We realize, as
time passes, that animals have a way of teaching us about loving, about
loyalty, joy and friendship…and whatever we've shared in their presence
can never really be lost."

"To My Mum From Her Sunshine"

Before I grow too frail and weak,
And all that's left is peace in sleep,
I know you'll do what must be done,
To end this fight that can't be won.

I don't fear death as humans do,
So let me try to comfort you,
Come: let us take a quiet stroll,
And share some quietness soul to soul.

No need for words 'twixt you and I,
No need to say a last good-bye,
We've grown so close in mind and heart,
It seems so cruel that we must part.

Be sure I sense the pain you'll feel,
Without me walking at your heel,
The days will feel full of despair,
Your "Sunshine" simply won't be there.

In time the pain will slowly wane,
You'll think of me and smile again,
You'll speak with love and pride of me,
Your extra special G.S.D.

Now take me where my needs they'll tend,
And stay there with me till the end,
Hold me close with soft good-byes,
'Till life's bright light has left my eyes.

The final sound I need to hear,
Is your soft voice upon my ear.
Your loving face will fade and dim,
As the rush of heaven closes in.
